Surprise! We are in the US a month earlier than planned, and here is the story, a short Covid- 19 adventure. We had originally planned a summer trip to the US starting the end of May, but Myra was hospitalized again with some secondary health issues two weeks ago. This forced us to reassess our situation so that she could get better consolidated health care in the US. But all international flights were canceled, and the borders were closed.
Thankfully, we were registered with the US Embassy, and they made us aware of a special repatriation flight May 3rd. Within three days, we had secured that flight, packed our bags, and someone drove us the three-hour trip to Warsaw for that flight. As we were making this decision, our original flights the end of May were canceled due to Covid-19 restrictions, so this special flight opened just in time.
