I posted a list of New Year’s resolutions a few years ago that received some positive feedback, so I will share them again:

Jesus’ New Year’s Resolutions
1. To continue to visit Matthew’s house, across political boundaries, and give hope to those who need it.
2. To talk with another rejected Samaritan woman.
3. To continue to let the next generation come unto Jesus.
4. To preach hope to the poor and set the captives free.
5. “…to seek and save that which was lost.” Luke 19:10

It might seem to some that uncertain times would warrant a degree of caution in Christian witness and serving our neighbors. Still, it is the very contrast of life’s uncertainties with God’s “certainties” that highlights the urgency of Christ’s mission. In Acts 11, Barnabas was sent to Antioch at the height of persecution and the scattering of the Jerusalem church:

“Then when he arrived and witnessed the grace of God, he rejoiced and began to encourage them all with resolute heart to remain true to the Lord.” – Acts 11:23 NASB
