I hope this newsletter finds you well and enjoying the cooler weather that comes along with fall! I can hardly believe it has only been 4 weeks since I arrived in Haiti- it already feels like a lifetime ago. It took my body some time to get adjusted and I got sick twice in those first two weeks but everything seems to be looking up now!
The last few weeks have been a frenzy of activity and transition and adjustment as I settle in here. God has been so incredibly gracious to allow the process to go smoothly and the time is absolutely flying by. I am so thankful to have been able to really connect with some of the people here and God is already changing and enriching my life as I get to know them and learn from them.
My mornings are all spent at the clinic working in the pharmacy and then my afternoons are spent at the orphanage building relationships with the older girls and loving on the younger kids; a few of them have already stolen my heart! I have also partnered with a woman named Sandra, a retired teacher who comes for several months each to teach English. In addition to teaching, she does a Tuesday night Bible study each week and it has been great to jump on board and be part of that. We have at least 30 women who come each week and God is already changing lives. Last week, one woman came forward to give her life to Christ and another came forward to recommit her life. We were overjoyed but I know that is just a glimpse of the joy God Himself feels welcoming His children home.
We recently had a team here for 5 days from Utah and it was an amazing time! I spent every day with them and was able to build some great relationships. The team consisted of mostly medical professionals so we spent 3 days seeing patients and giving out medication. They were able to help many people during their time here and I was so glad to be part of hosting their team.
Thank you so much for giving so that God’s kingdom can go forth among the nations. There are lives and destinies that are being impacted with the Gospel and none of it would be possible without your faithfulness and partnership! I am truly thankful for you.
