Greetings dear friends!

I hope you’re all doing well and having a great summer! This is the first summer that I have been here in the almost 18 years that I have lived in Ethiopia and I am really enjoying it. It was nice to feel a hint of fall early this morning on my morning walk and I am looking forward to fall and hopefully seeing the leaves change before heading back to Ethiopia.

I have been somewhat out of pocket since arriving in the states. After almost 18 years in Ethiopia and always being pedal to the metal when I’m stateside I have been taking a much-needed sabbatical. It has been a gift to have this time to rest, restore, pray, reflect, spend time in nature, and spend quality time with family and friends. I am still somewhat in sabbatical mode but have been slowly stepping back into work the past couple of weeks. Please pray for my remaining time here as I work towards returning to Ethiopia mid-October or early November.

The work in Ethiopia is going well in my absence. Dr. Fejiro and his team are doing a remarkable job leading the church. I am filled with joy as I see how he and the church are doing. It’s a blessing to see people step in and successfully take the church into its next season. Our partner school in Wonji Shewa is continuing to do well as is starting the new school year. Please keep the church and the school in prayer as we enter the new year in Ethiopia (the Ethiopian New Year is in September.)

Tinsae had her bone marrow transplant is now recovering in India. Because her mom’s bone marrow was only a 50% match there have some complications but she is recovering well. She is on an antibiotic regime and is being monitored at home by nurses from the hospital. The doctors have recommended that she stay three months in India to continue her monitoring and evaluations. We need to raise $10,000 to cover her families rent, living expenses, medications and evaluations for the remaining three months that she will be in India. Please continue to keep Tinsae and her family in prayer as she recovers and for the needed funding.

Thank you for your friendships and partnerships in my life and in the ministry in Ethiopia. I am thankful and am honored to walk with you.

Blessings!

Eddie
