January 2016 Update –
God sometimes interrupts the plans we have to advance His kingdom with His specific plans revealed through a window of opportunity. Such was the experience of the apostle Paul when God prevented one mission only to open the door to another.
Last summer we wrote to you about a Romanian student, Maria, who asked our leaders, “Please come to my hometown of Cluj, Romania to start a church among university students.” After many follow up conversations I will fast-forward to the present as Myra and I prepare for a scouting trip to Cluj in February that will set the stage for an Every Nation Ten Days mission trip in June of this year.

a man of Macedonia was standing and appealing to him, and saying,
‘Come over to Macedonia and help us.'”

Our goal will be to break ground on what will become a student outreach, and we are excited that our churches in Ukraine and Poland are near enough to Cluj to help pioneer and nurture this work. We will only be in Cluj a few days and will then fly to Lviv, Ukraine for our first Pastors Bootcamp that includes leaders who may lead future works.
This is a one-week intensive training for existing pastors and future church planters on how to develop thriving churches that can eventually pioneer new missionary works from zero to a new and vibrant church, and the goal is not only to reach their own nations, but also what will be for them new nations. This school will be taught in Ukrainian and English for leaders from all over Europe, and Myra and I will be joining other European leaders in teaching the courses.
Of course a one-week intensive training a church planter maketh not, so our future work encompasses extended training for the new church planters right before they are launched. This as well as coaching leaders will prepare us all to answer more great people like Maria who say, “Come over here …”
