She sent me five emphatic videos to my phone saying this: “I can’t get over it Melanie! All day I’ve been telling God, ‘Here I am.’ Then I got home to read my Bible and the next Psalm I am supposed to read is Psalm 40! Those were the exact words the pastor preached at the conference.” My mind was blown. Kaylie, whom I met as I helped with high school ministry, is now attending Santa Monica College where I do ministry. I invited her to our student conference where close to 300 students from around the region come together for a weekend of worship and to hear various speakers. One speaker shared from Isaiah and challenged the students, “The greatest three words you can tell God is ‘Here I am.’” At the end of the message Kaylie stood up responding to the call to ministry. Kaylie said, “Here I am God, use me.” Her passion for God is contagious, and I will have a year and a half to train her to share her faith. I can’t wait to share with you where God takes her and how He uses her. Kaylie is 1of 5 of my college students who stood to answer the call to ministry. I knew God had His hand on their lives, but I am overwhelmed in a positive way to walk along side them on their journey towards full time ministry! Please pray for these future leaders in ministry whom I get to train: Kevin, Kaylie, Kobie, Rachel, and Damaris.
