When I left America 3 weeks ago, I was nowhere near prepared for the emotional roller coaster I was embarking on! After a sick pilot led to missed connections and leaving TN a day later than I had intended, I arrived in Haiti and immediately jumped back in. Those first days were difficult as I dealt with missing home and saying goodbye to all of my friends and family but the Lord was so incredibly gracious and I processed the major change and began finding my place within the ministry once again. As I settled in and prepared for my first year here, God presented a door before me that I never imagined possible, in my wildest dreams.

Most of you likely remember hearing about Abeline, a little girl I deeply connected with at the orphanage in Haiti. What most people are unaware of is the fact that Abeline is very sick. She has Sickle Cell Disease, type SS which is the most severe; she is also severely malnourished which both leave her at risk of developing severe, life threatening infections at any moment. In May, she contracted one such infection that put her in the hospital for 3 weeks and nearly took her life. The only way for Abeline to have any hope of a “normal” life and to live beyond childhood is to get her to the US for medical treatment.

Previously I had been told a medical visa was not an option (when I had inquired last year); however, I have now been connected with a woman who not only says it is an option but has extensive experience acquiring them and has agreed to help me in the process. This means that I could return with Abeline on a medical visa as soon as this fall!! Never in my wildest dreams did I think this would be possible but God seems to be doing something in the life of this little girl and I am blown away to be part of it.

There are MULTIPLE steps that need to take place in order for all of this to come together. The costs for a medical visa and travel can be upwards of $4000 but I am believing that God is going to provide that in a supernaturally fast way.

There is an immediate need of $500 to get all of the necessary documents to secure a passport and get the passport expedited. I have created a YouCaring page to help raise these costs and will also be doing a t-shirt fundraiser to help raise money.

Please consider giving to help this amazing little girl have a fighting chance at the life she deserves. You are literally helping to save her life.
