Rested and Refreshed

While I was not originally planning to come back to the states for a trip this summer, it was truly an incredible gift to me having that time to rest, relax, travel and share what God is doing through my work here in Haiti. From the moment I landed in Florida to the day I took off from Tennessee, I saw God’s hand of faithfulness and provision and kindness over my life in such beautiful ways.

During my time in America, I was able to get some much needed physical rest and refreshing to my body as well as spending some needed time with friends and people I hold so dear to my heart. Every conversation, dinner and coffee brought life to my heart and was a reminder from God of the beauty of the life that He has called me to. I met so many incredible new people as I shared about the work I do with Mission of Grace and connected with old friends across several states.

I came back to Haiti ready to jump into a new season and am excited for the ways I felt God shift me and my focus and the areas I am called to serve here in Haiti. I have seen God grow so many areas I have poured into here and I am looking forward to the ways that He continues to grow all that I sow my time and life into.

Medical Visa

For those of you who have followed the journey of trying to get a medical visa for Abeline to receive treatment in the US, we have a very big and exciting update! After several months of talking to several hospitals, we received the test kits to perform the blood test to determine if Abeine and one of her brothers are an HLA match for a bone marrow transplant, which would cure her sickle cell. The blood was drawn this week and sent to the US this weekend. They will
receive the sample Monday or Tuesday and we should have results within a few weeks. Once we receive results, we will have some direction as to what our next steps will be. There is still a long road ahead of us and we will need a community of people to walk with us on this journey. Please pray that things would go smoothly with processing the blood and receiving results quickly so that we can see where God is taking us.

New School Year

While I was in the states we began a new school year at Grace Community School and it was amazing to come back and see all of the work that went into getting our school building ready for a new year. We have close to 250 students this year and I am looking forward to getting to know all of our new students and seeing the way that God grows and expands them as He provides incredible new futures for them!
