The last few weeks have been incredibly busy and intense and so fulfilling as we hosted multiple short term teams. Hosting teams is really what helped me to fall in love with Haiti and it was how the Lord called me back to this ministry for a season. Not only do I love building relationships that serve as such a support and encouragement to me, I absolutely love seeing people fall in love with Haiti and God’s call to take the Gospel to ALL nations. As I see it come alive for each of them, it comes alive for me in a new way.

We have had 5 teams in the last few weeks, doing a very wide range of ministries. We did VBS (at the orphanage and in the community), a feeding at the church, ministry with the kids at the orphanage and the grandma house as well as at our weekly Bible studies. Each of these teams blessed me in such a unique way and it was truly hard to see them go.

There have been a few staffing changes over the past few weeks, so we have been without a pharmacist in our clinic. In His goodness, God sent us the perfect team to help organize and inventory our pharmacy and it was decided that I would be the one to train and oversee that department from now on. When I worked in the pharmacy during the fall, I had many ideas about systems and ways to make things better and more efficient, but because I was only here for a short period, there wasn’t time to be able to implement the changes I envisioned. I am very excited about this new opportunity to use my skills and gifts to help better the ministry.

Things are still moving forward (although sometimes slowly) with the medical visa for Abeline. Tomorrow, I will have all of the paperwork needed in hand, EXCEPT a letter from a hospital and Dr who are willing to treat her for free which is a requirement for the visa. This has proven to be the most difficult step but we are continuing forward in faith and believing for God to open this door for us. Please be in prayer for us in this journey, that God would continue to sustain my faith and guard me with His peace, and that He would protects Abeline and guard her health as we continue to wait. I have also begun selling tshirts as a fundraiser to cover visa and travel costs; the tshirt design is below and you can contact me to order or visit my YouCaring page (https://www.youcaring.com/abeline-586232).

In all of the crazy transitions and unknowns of this season, I am increasingly thankful for such an incredible, supportive community standing behind me in all of this. The ministry I’m doing would not be possible without each of you and I know, without a doubt, that I would be unable to continue thriving despite the challenges of this calling if there were not a team of people praying for me and believing with me for God to break through. Every life changed and person impacted is a DIRECT result of your faithfulness to give and prayer and join with me in this journey. From the bottom of my heart, thank you!
