Calvin 001

Hi there! My name is Calvin Bradley Jr. and I am a Missionary in Greenville, NC.  For those who may not know me personally, I am a graduate of East Carolina University with a BS in Rehabilitation Services, a BA in Religious Studies, and a Graduate Certificate in Global Understanding. In addition, I am currently in my first year of graduate studies at Campbell University Divinity School where I am pursing my Master of Divinity degree, and Drexel University where I am pursuing my Master of Science in Global and International Education.  I am a native of Jackson, NC and for the last 5 years, have made Greenville my home.

Life has a way of taking us places and bringing us to things we never imagined.  I remember as a child and teenager, mapping out my education and career plans, and knowing exactly where I wanted to be at 18, 20, and 25 years old.    Well, as we all know, we live and we learn that life just isn’t that simple; especially when you surrender your life fully to God.  Never in a million years did I envision myself becoming a missionary after college.

However, I am confident and know that I am exactly where God wants me to be, at least for now. As a native of Eastern North Carolina, I count it joy to be serving in Greenville, NC. This city is what I would call the epicenter of the East. Home to East Carolina University, where nearly 28,000 students hail to pursue undergraduate and graduate education; and Vidant Health, the healthcare provider of the east, this a great place to engage people and serve God.

The name of the ministry I lead is called “Bless Our City.”  It is the heart and goal of this ministry to share the love of Christ in our community by simply loving people.  For the past two summers, my local church, Greenville Christian Fellowship, has entrusted me to lead our “Bless Our City” summer outreach initiative; which has been a week long outreach aimed to impact lives and serve our city.  Over the past two summers we have done a range of projects from repairs and yard work for seniors, painting bollards in one of our major city parks, providing free water runs for parents and students during ECU orientations, visiting with and entertaining residents of a local retirement center, taking city-wide prayer walks, hosting a free medical missions outreach, and partnering with a number of other organizations and ministries to do various other outreaches.

Since August of 2012, we have established a monthly outreach to Cypress Glen Retirement Center where we spend a few hours each month laughing, reflecting, and ministering to residents.  We have also developed an ongoing relationship with Angel Cops, a local ministry that supports and aids the unsheltered homeless in our city.   We strive to provide them with ongoing food and personal care items to assist the population they serve.     We have reached out to treatment centers, schools, and other organizations as well to be a blessing and to build relationships.   There are a number of other ongoing outreaches we hope to have started in the coming months.
